2019 Rockgarden Vineyard Syrah

This wine started as an adventure scouting snow covered vineyards in the Rocks District of the Walla Walla AVA with a friend that grew up in Milton Freewater.  Ironically what started in the snow ended with one of the cooler growing seasons on record, dodging frost spells in the Walla Walla Valley while betting against mother nature to maximize hang time and achieve the flavors I was after.  Comprised of two different blocks(50% Tablas Creek/50% Phelps 300) from the Rockgarden Vineyard located on the ancient basalt cobble riverbed in the Walla Walla Valley.

80% whole cluster fermentation, aged in 30% Used, 70% Neutral French Oak, and bottled after a short 10 months to capture the aromatics of it's floral bouquet.  Light ruby in color, packed with bright red fruits, a hint of white pepper and a thirst quenching finish. 153 cases produced
